GCSE Maths revision timeline, counting back from 14 May 2027
A steady plan beats a last-minute rush. If your child wants a tutor alongside it, our GCSE Maths tutoring starts with a free assessment and costs from £69 a month.
Now to December 2026
Ask the school which board and tier your child is entered for. Use classwork, tests and mock results to list the topics that lose the most marks.
January to February 2027
After the mocks, work through the weakest topics one at a time, mixing in short questions on earlier topics so they are not forgotten.
March to April 2027
Move to full past papers under timed conditions, 1 hour 30 minutes each, and mark them with the board's mark schemes. The Easter holiday is a good time for this.
Final 2 weeks before 14 May
Practise the style of the first paper: non-calculator for AQA and Edexcel, calculator for OCR. Check equipment, including a calculator the exam rules allow.
Between papers, 14 May to 14 June
Keep a light routine of mixed questions and past paper sections. The gaps between papers suit steady review, not learning brand new topics.
Results day, 19 August 2027
If the grade is not what your child needed, ask the school about reviews of marking and resit options before making firm plans.
