How TaleemSquare Teaches
The assessment, the plan and the lesson routine behind every one-to-one math and reading class.
It starts with a free assessment
Every child starts with a free 45-minute one-to-one session. It is a real lesson, not a sales call. The tutor works through questions just below, at and just above your child's grade level to find where understanding is secure and where it breaks down.
The tutor also watches how your child works: whether they explain their thinking, how they react when stuck, and how long they can focus. Afterwards you get an honest recommendation, including when we think tutoring isn't needed.
A written plan, not a generic course
The assessment becomes a short plan: the skills to work on, in order, and how they connect to what your child is doing at school. If an older gap is holding back today's topic, the plan deals with that first.
The plan is reviewed with you regularly and changes as your child improves. You can also change the number of lessons a week or switch tutor at any time.
The same lesson routine every time
Lessons are 45 minutes, live and one-to-one over Zoom with a shared whiteboard. Most follow the same shape: a warm-up, a short recap of what was learned last time, a new idea, guided practice, independent practice, and a wrap-up where your child explains what they learned.
A predictable routine lowers anxiety, especially for children who find school stressful, and keeps time focused on learning rather than settling in.
Teaching principles we rely on
Recap and retrieval: children recall earlier material at the start of lessons, because remembering is what makes learning stick. Worked examples: tutors model a method step by step before asking a child to try. Spaced review: older skills come back regularly instead of being taught once and forgotten.
For younger children, ideas move from concrete to pictorial to abstract: counters and drawings before numbers and symbols. In reading, early readers learn phonics systematically, and older readers are taught comprehension strategies directly.
Aligned to your child's curriculum
Tutors follow your child's own curriculum: Common Core or your US state's standards, the National Curriculum in England, the Australian Curriculum and state syllabuses, Canadian provincial curricula, IB, or a homeschool program. Families can share homework, worksheets or the class topic list.
When a test is coming up, such as a state test, SATs in England, NAPLAN, EQAO, GCSEs or AP exams, lessons include practice in the right format.
You always know what happened
After every class you get a WhatsApp summary: what was covered, how your child did and anything to practise. Parents can sit in on any lesson without asking first.
If something isn't working, tell us. We will adjust the plan, change the pace or match a different tutor at no cost.
What we don't do
Tutors don't complete graded homework, tests or coursework for students, and they won't write essays or internal assessments. The goal is for your child to be able to do the work alone.
We don't promise specific grades or score increases by a set date. Progress depends on the child, the size of the gaps and how often lessons happen, and we would rather be honest about that.
