Math 30-1, Math 30-2 and diploma exams in Edmonton
- Alberta's Grade 12 diploma exams count for 30% of the final mark, with the school-awarded mark making up the other 70%. The 30% weighting has applied since 1 September 2023.
- Mathematics 30-1 is identified for post-secondary programs that require calculus; Mathematics 30-2 for daily life, work and programs that do not. Both exams require an approved graphing calculator.
- Each math exam is designed to take 3 hours, with up to 6 allowed. In 2026-27 the Math 30-1 and 30-2 exams are on 20 January 2027 and 17 June 2027, with sittings also in November, April and August.
- Diploma exams are now written on Alberta's digital assessment platform, and results appear on myPass about three weeks after the exam.
A tutor can teach the relations and functions, trigonometry and probability topics behind Math 30-1 or 30-2, keep the school-awarded 70% strong through the term, and run timed practice before the January or June exam.
