How it works, in short

TaleemSquare math homework help is a live, one-to-one online lesson where a tutor works through the problems your child brings from school. The tutor explains the method with similar examples, then watches your child do their own work, so they understand it rather than copying an answer.

Lessons run in the evening and on weekends in your time zone, for Kindergarten to Grade 12. Plans start at $85 a month for two 45-minute lessons a week.

What changes after a term of lessons

Worked solution of a linear equation on the shared lesson whiteboard
Lessons happen on a shared whiteboard, so your child solves while the tutor watches and guides (example lesson).

Homework done with understanding

Your child finishes assignments knowing how they got each answer, which shows up on the next test.

Calmer evenings

Math help moves from the kitchen table to a tutor, and the nightly arguments usually stop.

Independent work habits

Your child learns to try first, ask specific questions and check their own answers.

What we cover

Lessons follow your child's own school or homeschool curriculum. These are the areas we work on most at this level.

This week's assignments

Whatever the teacher set: worksheets, textbook problems or online platforms like IXL, Khan Academy or Zearn.

The method behind the problem

The tutor explains the idea with a similar example before your child tries their own.

Methods your school uses

Area models, number bonds or the standard algorithm, taught the way the class does it.

Checking work

Estimating, substituting answers back and spotting careless slips before handing work in.

Upcoming quizzes

A quick review before a quiz or unit test, using the same kinds of questions.

Filling the gaps behind homework

If homework is hard because of an older gap, the tutor fixes that too.

Signs your child could use help

  • Homework takes far longer than the teacher expects
  • Evenings end in tears or arguments
  • You don't recognize the methods the school uses
  • Your child copies examples without understanding
  • Homework is often left incomplete
  • Quiz grades are lower than homework grades

One of these on its own is normal. Two or three together usually point to a specific gap, and finding it is what the free assessment is for.

Who teaches your child

Every TaleemSquare math tutor passes the same five checks before their first class. Your child keeps the same tutor each week, and if the fit is not right we switch tutor at no cost. Tutors are based in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Pakistan and India, and all of them teach in English.

How we screen and match tutors
  • Identity and references checked

Every tutor is identity-verified and reference-checked before teaching a student.

  • Subject test

Tutors pass a subject test before they are matched with a child.

  • Spoken-English assessment

Lessons are taught in English, so every tutor passes a spoken-English assessment.

  • Live sample lesson

Tutors teach a live sample lesson before they are hired, to show they can explain clearly.

  • Open to parents

Classes are one-to-one in a password-protected room. Sit in on any class or ask for a recording.

How homework help works

Teach, don't tell

The tutor never just gives answers. Your child does their own homework and the tutor guides with questions and similar examples.

Graded work stays theirs

Tutors will not complete graded assignments or tests. The goal is for your child to be able to do it alone.

Find the real problem

When the same kind of question keeps going wrong, the tutor looks for the underlying gap and fixes it.

Same tutor every week

A regular tutor gets to know your child's class and teacher, which makes help faster and more useful.

Common worries, honest answers

“Will the tutor just do the homework for my child?”

No. Tutors teach the method and watch your child work. Doing graded work for students does not help them learn and is not allowed in our lessons.

“What if there is no homework one week?”

The tutor uses the time to review recent topics, fix gaps or preview the next unit. Lessons are never wasted.

“Can I book help only on nights with hard homework?”

Lessons follow a regular weekly schedule so your child keeps the same tutor and slots. You can choose two, three or four lessons a week.

Frequently asked questions

Is online math homework help worth it?

It is worth it when homework regularly causes stress or takes much longer than it should, or when you can't explain the methods your child's school uses. A live tutor explains the idea and checks understanding, which apps and answer sites can't do.

Will a tutor give my child the answers?

No. TaleemSquare tutors explain methods with similar examples and guide your child with questions, then let them complete their own work. They will not complete graded assignments, quizzes or tests for students.

What times are homework help lessons available?

Lessons are scheduled in your time zone, including weekday evenings and weekends. We agree a regular weekly slot after the free assessment so your child keeps the same tutor.

How much does online math homework help cost?

Plans start at $85 a month for two one-to-one lessons a week of 45 minutes, about $10.63 a lesson. Three lessons a week are $119 and four are $149. There is no contract, and the first assessment is free.

Can homework help cover more than one subject?

Yes. TaleemSquare also tutors reading and English. You can discuss splitting lessons between math and English at the free assessment.

Which grades do you help with?

We help with math homework from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus and Statistics, and the UK, Canadian and Australian equivalents.
