How it works, in short
Eleventh grade math tutoring at TaleemSquare is a live, one-to-one lesson that follows your child's course. Most US eleventh graders take Algebra 2 or Precalculus, some districts use Integrated Math III, and some students take AP Precalculus. The tutor reteaches what was unclear in class, works through homework and prepares your child for unit tests.
Junior year is also when many students prepare for the SAT or ACT, so lessons can mix course work with test-style math practice. In the UK this matches Year 12 and in Australia Year 11. Plans start at $85 a month, with no contract.

What changes after a term of lessons

Keeps up in Algebra 2 or Precalculus
Understands functions, equations and graphs well enough to follow each new unit without falling behind.
Better test grades
Prepares for unit tests and finals with targeted practice on the topics that cost the most marks.
Ready for SAT and ACT math
Builds the algebra and problem-solving skills these tests check, with timed practice as the test date gets close.
What we cover
Lessons follow your child's own school or homeschool curriculum. These are the areas we work on most at this level.
Functions and their graphs
Linear, quadratic, polynomial, exponential and logarithmic functions, and moving between equations, tables and graphs.
Polynomials and rational expressions
Factoring, dividing polynomials, solving polynomial equations and simplifying rational expressions.
Exponents and logarithms
Rules of exponents, logarithm properties and solving exponential equations, including growth and decay problems.
Trigonometry
The unit circle, radians, trigonometric functions and their graphs, and the basic identities used in Precalculus.
Sequences and series
Arithmetic and geometric sequences and series, and where they appear in finance and growth problems.
Statistics and probability
Interpreting data, normal distributions and probability, as covered in many Algebra 2 courses.
SAT and ACT math practice
Timed question sets, common traps and pacing strategies for the math sections of the SAT and ACT.
Signs your child could use help
- Grades dropped after moving into Algebra 2 or Precalculus
- Follows the lesson in class but gets stuck on homework
- Loses marks on tests through small algebra mistakes
- Finds logarithms or trigonometry confusing
- Has an SAT or ACT date coming up
- Wants a stronger math grade for college applications
One of these on its own is normal. Two or three together usually point to a specific gap, and finding it is what the free assessment is for.
Taught to your curriculum, wherever you live
Algebra 2, Precalculus or Integrated Math III (state standards)

A level Mathematics, Year 12
A level Mathematics is usually a two-year course in Years 12 and 13, with exams at the end of Year 13. The course covers pure mathematics, statistics and mechanics, and Year 12 builds the algebra and calculus foundations.
Level: Year 12 (first year of A level Maths)
Grade 11 mathematics (provincial courses)
Grade 11 university-preparation math includes Functions in Ontario, Pre-calculus 11 in BC and Math 20-1 in Alberta, covering functions, quadratics, exponential relations and trigonometry. Lessons follow your province's course.
Level: Grade 11
Senior secondary mathematics, Year 11
Year 11 students start senior courses such as VCE Mathematical Methods in Victoria or HSC Mathematics Advanced in NSW. Lessons follow the course and the school's assessment schedule.

Subject test
Tutors pass a subject test before they are matched with a child.
Spoken-English assessment
Lessons are taught in English, so every tutor passes a spoken-English assessment.
Live sample lesson
Tutors teach a live sample lesson before they are hired, to show they can explain clearly.
Open to parents
Classes are one-to-one in a password-protected room. Sit in on any class or ask for a recording.
How 11th grade math lessons work
Follow the school course
We work from your child's syllabus, homework and upcoming tests, so lessons support what is happening in class.
Fix the gaps underneath
Many junior-year problems come from shaky algebra. The tutor finds and repairs these gaps while teaching the new topic.
Practice that looks like the test
Before unit tests, finals or the SAT and ACT, your child practices with questions in the same style and time limits.
Updates for parents
You get a short note after every lesson on what was covered and what to practice next.

EnrollCommon worries, honest answers
“Is it too late to catch up in 11th grade?”
No. A tutor can rebuild the key algebra skills while keeping pace with the current unit. Steady weekly lessons usually make the biggest difference.
“Can you help with the SAT or ACT as well as school math?”
Yes. Lessons can split time between course work and test practice, and we shift the balance toward the SAT or ACT as the test date gets closer.
“My child takes an honors or AP course. Can you keep up?”
Yes. Tell us the course and textbook, and the tutor prepares from the same material, including honors classes and AP Precalculus.
