How it works, in short

TaleemSquare integrated math tutoring supports students in integrated high school courses such as Integrated Math I, II and III, North Carolina's NC Math 1, 2 and 3, and Utah's Secondary Mathematics I, II and III. These courses mix algebra, geometry and statistics each year instead of teaching them as separate courses.

Tutors follow your child's course and textbook in live, one-to-one 45-minute lessons. Plans start at $85 a month after a free assessment.

What changes after a term of lessons

Worked solution of a linear equation on the shared lesson whiteboard
Lessons happen on a shared whiteboard, so your child solves while the tutor watches and guides (example lesson).

Comfortable switching topics

Moves between algebra, geometry and statistics within the same unit without losing track.

Strong algebra core

Builds the algebra skills that run through all three integrated courses.

Clear transfer path

If your child moves to a traditional sequence or another state, gaps are mapped and filled.

What we cover

Lessons follow your child's own school or homeschool curriculum. These are the areas we work on most at this level.

Math I: linear and exponential relationships

Linear equations and functions, systems, exponential models, congruence and basic statistics.

Math II: quadratics and similarity

Quadratic functions and equations, similarity, right-triangle trigonometry, circles and probability.

Math III: functions and modeling

Polynomial, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic functions, trig functions and statistical inference.

Geometry throughout

Transformations, proofs, coordinate geometry and measurement spread across the courses.

Statistics throughout

Data displays, regression, probability and inference introduced step by step.

Signs your child could use help

  • Textbook jumps between topics and your child feels lost
  • Moved from a traditional course or another state
  • You can't find help that matches the course
  • Algebra gaps are showing up in every unit
  • End-of-course test coming up
  • Planning to switch to a traditional sequence

One of these on its own is normal. Two or three together usually point to a specific gap, and finding it is what the free assessment is for.

Taught to your curriculum, wherever you live

Integrated pathway (California districts, NC Math 1-3, Utah Secondary Math I-III and others)

California's framework allows districts to choose a traditional or integrated pathway, and many use Integrated Math I-III. North Carolina uses NC Math 1, 2 and 3 with end-of-course testing in NC Math 1 and 3. Utah uses Secondary Mathematics I-III.

GCSE Maths (topics are taught together)

In England, GCSE Maths already mixes number, algebra, geometry, ratio and statistics, so integrated-style teaching is normal. Tutors follow your exam board.

Provincial Grades 9-11 math

Canadian high school math courses typically combine algebra, geometry and data in each grade. Lessons follow your province's course.

Level: Grades 9-11 math

Australian Curriculum Years 9-10 and senior courses

Australian maths combines number, algebra, measurement, space, statistics and probability each year. Lessons follow your state's course.

How we teach integrated math

Follow the course order

Tutors teach in your child's unit order, so lessons always match what is happening in class.

Show the connections

We point out how algebra, geometry and statistics connect, which is the point of an integrated course.

Algebra as the spine

Algebra skills get extra attention because they support every unit in Math I to III.

Gap map for transfers

For students switching pathways, the tutor maps topics between courses so nothing is missed.

Common worries, honest answers

“Our district uses integrated math and we never learned it that way.”

The math is the same, just organized differently. Tutors know both pathways and can explain how they connect.

“We are moving to a state with a traditional sequence.”

Tutors can map what your child has covered against Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2, and fill any gaps before the move.

“Is integrated math harder?”

Not necessarily harder, but students switch topics more often. Some find that challenging at first.

Frequently asked questions

What is integrated math?

Integrated math is a high school pathway that teaches algebra, geometry, statistics and probability together each year, in courses usually called Integrated Math I, II and III, rather than in separate Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 courses. Many countries, including the UK and Australia, teach math this way.

Is Integrated Math 1 the same as Algebra 1?

Not exactly. Integrated Math I covers much of Algebra 1, such as linear and exponential functions and systems, plus some geometry and statistics. Some Algebra 1 topics, like parts of quadratics, move to Integrated Math II.

Which states use integrated math?

Many California districts use Integrated Math I-III, North Carolina uses NC Math 1, 2 and 3, and Utah uses Secondary Mathematics I, II and III. Other districts in various states also offer an integrated option. Check your district's course catalog.

How much does integrated math tutoring cost?

Plans start at $85 a month for two 45-minute one-to-one lessons a week, with three lessons at $119 and four at $149. There is no contract, and the first assessment is free.

Can a tutor help with the NC Math 1 or NC Math 3 end-of-course test?

Yes. Tutors follow the NC Math course content and, in the months before the test, practise with released questions and timed sections. They also revisit the algebra skills that appear across the whole exam, since those carry the most weight.

Can you help my child switch from integrated to traditional math?

Yes. Tutors compare the topics your child has covered with the new course and focus on anything it assumes they already know. Geometry proofs and some quadratic topics are the most common gaps when students move from integrated to traditional courses.
