How it works, in short

TaleemSquare is an online math academy for children from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Instead of a group class or a learning center, each child has live one-to-one lessons with a tutor on a shared whiteboard, following their school curriculum. Every family starts with a free 45-minute assessment, and lessons then run two to four times a week.

Because every lesson is one-to-one, the pace and the examples are set for your child, not a group. Plans start at $85 a month for two 45-minute lessons a week, with no registration fee and no contract, and parents get a WhatsApp update after every class.

Gaps found and fixed

The free assessment finds the skills your child is missing, and the lessons work through them in order.

Keeping up in class

Your child follows what the class is doing and stops dreading math homework.

Ready for the next step

From times tables to Algebra 1, AP Calculus or the SAT, the plan builds toward what comes next.

Signs your child could use help

  • You want academy structure without driving to a learning center
  • Group classes move too fast or too slow for your child
  • Your child has gaps from earlier grades
  • You are comparing Mathnasium, Kumon or the Russian School of Math
  • You want an update after every class
  • Your child learns best with one teacher's full attention

One of these on its own is normal. Two or three together usually point to a specific gap, and finding it is what the free assessment is for.

Who teaches your child

Every TaleemSquare math tutor passes the same five checks before their first class. Your child keeps the same tutor each week, and if the fit is not right we switch tutor at no cost. Tutors are based in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Pakistan and India, and all of them teach in English.

How we screen and match tutors
  • Identity and references checked

Every tutor is identity-verified and reference-checked before teaching a student.

  • Subject test

Tutors pass a subject test before they are matched with a child.

  • Spoken-English assessment

Lessons are taught in English, so every tutor passes a spoken-English assessment.

  • Live sample lesson

Tutors teach a live sample lesson before they are hired, to show they can explain clearly.

  • Open to parents

Classes are one-to-one in a password-protected room. Sit in on any class or ask for a recording.

How an online math academy differs from a center or a group class

One child, one tutor

Every lesson is one-to-one, so the pace, the examples and the questions are set for your child.

Live teaching, not worksheets

The tutor explains, watches your child's working on the whiteboard and fixes mistakes as they happen.

At home, month to month

No travel and no fixed term. Lessons happen at home, and you can change or cancel any month.

Honest about fit

If a different kind of help would suit your child better, we will tell you at the assessment.

Common worries, honest answers

“Is an online academy as good as an in-person center?”

For most children, yes. In a one-to-one online lesson the tutor's attention is entirely on your child, and the shared whiteboard keeps them working rather than watching. Very young children may need a parent nearby for the first few lessons.

“How is this different from group online math classes?”

Many online math classes teach small groups at one pace. Every TaleemSquare lesson is one-to-one, so your child never waits for others and is never left behind.

“What if it doesn't work for my child?”

You can switch tutor at no cost, change the plan or cancel any month. If your child isn't more confident after the first 4 paid classes, we refund what you paid for them.
