How we wrote this
This is TaleemSquare's own comparison, so we are not neutral: we offer online one-to-one math tutoring and compete with Wiingy. Wiingy facts come from its own pages and help center, checked in October 2026, with the main ones listed at the end. We have tried to say plainly where Wiingy is the better choice.
Wiingy often comes up when parents ask for affordable online math tutoring, and so does TaleemSquare. Both offer live one-to-one lessons online, and both let you try before you pay.
The differences are in how you choose a tutor, how you pay, how long lessons are and what you hear back after each class. This page sets them out side by side.
What is the difference between Wiingy and TaleemSquare?
Wiingy is a tutoring marketplace for school and college students. You can browse tutor profiles or ask Wiingy to match you, take a free trial lesson, and then pay upfront through a payment link from a Wiingy academic advisor. Its help center describes paying per lesson or as a package, and subscription plans for enrollments from 1 April 2026 that you can cancel at any time. Wiingy does not publish a price list, and the exact price comes in the payment link after the trial. Lessons run for 55 minutes on Wiingy's own platform, which records each lesson and offers AI summaries, quizzes and flashcards.
TaleemSquare is a tutoring service rather than a marketplace. After a free 45-minute assessment, we match your child with one tutor who teaches 45-minute lessons that follow your child's own school or homeschool curriculum, and you pay one fixed monthly price for two, three or four lessons a week. Every tutor passes five checks, and you get a short WhatsApp update after every class.
| Feature | Wiingy | TaleemSquare |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Marketplace; browse tutors or ask to be matched | Tutoring service; we match the tutor |
| Lesson length | 55 minutes | 45 minutes |
| Price | No single price list; school math pages list from $15 to $28 an hour | $85, $119 or $149 a month |
| How you pay | Upfront via an advisor's payment link; per lesson, package or subscription plan | Monthly plan, billed by calendar month |
| First step | Free trial lesson | Free 45-minute assessment |
| Refunds | Latest payment only, within 15 days, if no lesson taken since | First 4 paid classes refunded if your child is not more confident |

| Unused lessons | Valid 12 months from purchase, per its lesson policy; can be paused or moved to another subject | Reschedule free with 4 hours' notice; a rescheduled class can move to the next month |
How much does Wiingy cost compared with TaleemSquare?
Wiingy has no single price list, and its own pages give different starting figures. Its 5th grade math page says lessons start from $21 an hour in its title and quotes $28 per session in its text, while other Wiingy pages start at $15, $18 or $19. Because Wiingy does not publish one price list, the price in the payment link you get after the trial is the one that counts.
| Option | Lessons | Price per lesson | Cost for 8 lessons (about a month) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wiingy at $21 a lesson | 8 lessons of 55 minutes | $21 | $168 |
| Wiingy at $28 a lesson | 8 lessons of 55 minutes | $28 | $224 |
| TaleemSquare Starter plan | 8 lessons of 45 minutes | About $10.63 | $85 (monthly plan) |
Wiingy quotes its per hour prices for a 55-minute lesson, so over a full 60 minutes, $21 to $28 works out to about $23 to $31, against about $14 an hour on our Starter plan. At one lesson a week, a $21 Wiingy tutor costs about the same as our two-lesson plan, but gives your child less teaching time. See all our plans on the pricing page.
Who teaches your child?
Wiingy says fewer than 3% of tutor applicants qualify, after interviews, mock lessons and practical assessments, and its math tutors page says 77% of its math tutors hold a master's or PhD. If a tutor is not the right fit, Wiingy promises a replacement at no extra cost. Wiingy's pages we checked do not describe criminal background checks, and it asks tutor applicants for government ID. TaleemSquare does not currently run criminal record checks either.
Our tutors pass five checks before their first class: identity verification, reference checks, a subject test, a spoken English assessment and a live sample lesson. Parents can also sit in on any class, and your child keeps the same tutor each week wherever possible, with a free switch at any time. Our tutors are based in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Pakistan and India, and all teach in English.
What do parents hear after each lesson?
Wiingy records and transcribes lessons, and its CoTutor tool turns each recording into a summary, quizzes and flashcards for the student. We found no regular progress report for parents described on its pages.
After every class with us, you get a short WhatsApp update covering what was taught and how it went. You can also sit in on any class.
What happens with refunds and missed lessons?
Wiingy's help center says only the most recent payment can be refunded, the request must come within 15 days of paying, and a payment becomes non-refundable once a lesson has been taken. Wiingy's lesson policy says lessons you buy stay valid for 12 months from purchase and can be paused or moved to another subject, though another help article says validity depends on how many lessons you buy. We did not find a set notice period for rescheduling in the Wiingy help articles we read; you agree a new time with your tutor.
Our plans are billed by calendar month with no contract, and you can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the billing month. You can reschedule a class at no cost with at least 4 hours' notice, and a rescheduled class can move into the next month; a class cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, counts as delivered. If your child is not more confident after the first 4 paid classes, we refund those classes when you ask within 14 days of the fourth class. Our refund policy has the details.
Who should choose Wiingy?
- You want to browse many tutor profiles and choose one yourself.
- One 55-minute lesson a week is enough for your child.
- You like AI summaries, quizzes and flashcards after each lesson.
- You are comfortable paying upfront for lessons or a subscription arranged after the trial.
Who should choose TaleemSquare?
- You want one fixed monthly price instead of comparing hourly rates.
- You want an update after every class.
- Your child needs two or more lessons a week, where our plans usually cost less.
- You want lessons that follow your child's own school or homeschool curriculum. Our 5th grade math page shows how a lesson at that level runs.
Our verdict
If you enjoy choosing a tutor yourself and one lesson a week is enough, Wiingy is a reasonable option, and its free trial makes it easy to test. If your child needs regular lessons two or more times a week, steady updates for you and one predictable bill, TaleemSquare is usually the better value. We are TaleemSquare, so weigh our view against a trial with each.
